Urban Cultural Arts Foundation (UCAF) is getting ready for its fourth annual African Village Arts Festival (AVAF) occurring on Saturday August 21, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Old Central Community House, 1251 Bryden Road, Columbus 43205, next to Kwanzaa Playground. This unique arts festival offers Live Performances, Visual Art Exhibitions and demonstrations, a Youth Studio, Community art projects, Drum Circles, Traditional African Ceremonies, Ethnic Foods, and an Artist/ Vendor marketplace.
Admission is free to this family-friendly event. Free parking is also available in walking distance at Franklin Alternative Middle School.
In conjunction with the Festival we will also open a new exhibit featuring the work of Larry Winston Collins, Associate Professor at Miami University-Oxford. The exhibit opening reception will occur on Sunday August 22, 2010 from 4:00 pm – 7:00pm at the William H. Thomas Gallery, 1270 Bryden Road in Columbus, OH.
