ProMusica presents an evening dedicated to brass and organ! This memorable concert will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Turibius Chapel at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Worthington.
Come hear the power of the Wacek Family Memorial Organ being played by one of the world’s premier organists, Todd Wilson. The ProMusica chamber orchestra brass section will join Mr. Wilson throughout the evening in this demanding program of music.
The evening opens with Handel’s "The Hornpipe’", from Water Music. The program then explores the masters of the organ with visits into Gabrieli’s Sacrea Symphoniae and Bach’s The Art of the Fugue, as well as the French organist, Gigout, and his ‘Grand Choeur Dialogué’.
The concert concludes with Widor’s "Toccata" from Symphony No. 5, his most-often performed work, written to put each musician through their paces.
Tickets for the Josephinum performance are $30 general admission, student tickets are $5. Call 614.464.0066 or visit www.promusicacolumbus.org for tickets.
