Friends of Alum Creek & Tributaries (FACT) will hold a recreational canoe float along the Alum Creek river, on Saturday, June 20 starting 9 AM, departing from St. Mary of the Springs' lower parking lot, 2320 Airport Drive, Columbus, OH.
BYOB, bring you own boat - canoe or kayak - to help FACT clean-up the waterway of trash and debris. Be prepared to get wet and dirty, wear sturdy watershoes and appropriate clothing. The leisurely group tour of a few river miles will disembark at Academy Park. Contact FACT by phone 614-409-0511 or email kwilliams@friendsofalumcreek.org, if you need to reserve a canoe since limited number of craft avaialable and FACT members will receive priority seating.
The mission of Friends of Alum Creek and Tributaries (FACT) is to preserve and protect the quality and beauty of the Alum Creek watershed and promote environmentally responsible recreation, educational opportunities, and citizen participation at many levels. FACT is a local not-for-profit volunteer based organization serving as the environmental steward for the Alum Creek watershed within Franklin and Delaware counties.
