The Columbus Symphony and conductor Michael Berkowitz will showcase a variety of percussion instruments in the Rhythm of the Americas program. The concert includes Copland’s Hoedown, Anderson’s Syncopated Clock, Strauss, Sr.’s Radetzky March, Prima’s Sing, Sing, Sing, Joplin’s The Entertainer, Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, Tchaikovsky’s Waltz from Eugene Onegin, LaPrise’s The Hokey Pokey, Bizet’s Carmen: Les Toreadors, Gershwin’s Promenade, Bernstein’s Overture to West Side Story, and Williams’ End Title from Star Wars. Pre-concert activities begin at 2pm in the Capitol Theatre lobby. Recommended for ages 3-10, the concert will last approximately one hour. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children, and can be purchased at the Ohio Theatre Ticket Office (39 E. State St.), all Ticketmaster outlets, and www.ticketmaster.com.
