Friends of Alum Creek & Tributaries (FACT) will conduct native tree plantings at Academy Park and Wolfe Parks on Saturday morning, April 18, starting at 9 AM. Volunteers are needed to help dig, plant, and water over 650 new seedling trees along the Alum Creek Greenway path and riverbank.
Meet FACT at the Academy Park parking lot, 250 S. Nelson Rd in Columbus; look for signs.
Please wear work clothes and sturdy shoes or boots. Bring gloves and shovels if you have them, others will be available.
Beverages and some snacks will be aprovided to volunteers. Supported by Columbus Recreation and Parks Department grant received from Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) via the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
The mission of Friends of Alum Creek and Tributaries (FACT) is to preserve and protect the quality and beauty of the Alum Creek watershed and promote environmentally responsible recreation, educational opportunities, and citizen participation at many levels. FACT is a local not-for-profit volunteer based organization serving as the environmental steward for the Alum Creek watershed within Franklin and Delaware counties.
