Description / Mission Statement:
Manual labor working outdoors in parks - within woodlands, fields, waterways/streams. Starting in April, FACT will be conducting many service projects in various parklands along the Alum Creek corridor in Columbus, Westerville, and Bexley, Ohio. Activities can include tree planting (small seedlings to large saplings), removing invasive wild plants such as Amur honeysuckle bushes, and cleaning-up trash and debris from trails, and in & around waterways. Most of our events take place on Saturday mornings (9 AM - 1 PM) and some occur on Sunday afternoons (from 1 PM - 5 PM). Families are welcomed to participate.
The mission of Friends of Alum Creek and Tributaries (FACT) is to preserve and protect the quality and beauty of the Alum Creek atershed and promote environmentally responsible recreation, educational opportunities, and citizen participation at many levels. FACT is a local non-profit volunteer based organization serving as the environmental steward for the lower Alum Creek watershed within Franklin and Delaware counties
