Have you ever lost money on a job? Have you ever had to assume costs that you didn't put in your budget? No matter what type of project you are working on, you must have accurate cost estimates if you want the job to be profitable. Attend the following interactive session to learn how to accurately estimate project work.
Accurately Estimating for a Profitable Job
Presented by: Phil Johnson, Senior Estimator
Turner Construction Company
This interactive session broken up into teams will help you take a more in-depth look at estimating. Topics will include estimating tools and resources, the takeoff, unit pricing, qualifications and assumptions, scheduling and more. Books and materials will be provided.
Phil Johnson is the Senior Estimator for Turner Construction Company, one of the largest construction management companies in the United States. He has been with the Columbus office for 24 years.
Lunch is being provided for all participants at no charge. However, "no shows" will be assessed a $10 fee to cover the cost of a pre-ordered lunch if cancellation is not received 24 hours prior to the event.
This training is a part of the Lunch and Learn series sponsored by the Economic & Community Development Institute (ECDI) under the Capital for Construction program. (The Capital for Construction program provides low-interest advance payments to qualified minority contractors to help address financial gaps in performing work on construction projects when payment is delayed.)
The Lunch and Learn series provides an excellent opportunity to network with other minority contractors and learn more about issues of importance in the industry as well as the services that are available to you at ECDI. There is no fee for these classes.
