Green Lawn Cemetery Bike Tour

Saturday, August 21 - 10:00 AM

This is a fundraiser and registration is required. A portion of the $35 fee supports restoration projects in the cemetery.

The tour will be narrated by historian Randy Rogers, who also serves as the Executive Director of Green Lawn Cemetery Association. An interesting and relaxing tour for anyone wants to learn about the history contained in this icionic cemetery. An exceptional tour with an exceptional guide.

The tour proceeds by bike through Green Lawn Cemetery -- one of the oldest and largest cemeteries in Ohio. It represents a vast treasure, encompassing more than 200 years of history and is the resting place of many prominent Columbus residents, including the families of several U.S. Presidents. The tour will stop frequently for informative talks and stories about notable graves, monuments, family mausoleums, and more.

Location: The tour begins and ends at Green Lawn Abbey - a spectacular mausoleum that opened in 1929, fell into disrepair, and is now being beautifully restored. Parking is free. Green Lawn Abbey is a short distance outside of Green Lawn Cemetery.

Bikes: Outdoor Pursuits can provide you with an easy-to-ride cruiser style bike for $10. Or you may bring your own bike (please indicate when you register online).

Helmets: All riders must wear a fastened bike helmet on this tour. No exceptions. If you don't have a bike helmet, we can provide you with one free-of-charge.
