Online Writing Class: There Be Dragons

Saturday, October 17 - 9:00 AM

ADULT WRITING MASTER CLASS

Fantasy is a tool for expressing and understanding reality, and for experiencing the comforting, mind-cleansing power of language. Storyteller, author, and teaching artist Lyn Ford offers a session for anyone interested in playing with the concept of fact-to-fantasy poetic or narrative sharing and its connection to personal knowledge and growth. From old stories, imagined or faced fears, "non-sense" situations, dark moments, and fairytale prompts, Lyn encourages you to write, reflect, discuss, and write more.

INSTRUCTOR:

Lyn Ford is fourth-generation, nationally recognized, Affrilachian* storyteller (*a person of African American heritage and history from Appalachia). She is a mentor and teacher at Thurber House, and a teaching artist and workshop facilitator with the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education. As a writer, Lyn is published in storytelling magazines and newsletters, as well as teachers' enrichment books and story anthologies. Lyn is also a Laughter Yoga Teacher and breath mechanic, a recording artist with award-winning CDs, and a storytelling, creative writing workshop, and interactive keynote presenter.
