The Demonstration of Pataki woodcarving and woodcarving workshop for adults as well as woodcarving experiences for the whole family will be held onSaturday, August 24th, 2019 from 2 to 5 pm.

Chief Baba Shongo Obadina, native Columbus artist, curator and well-known community activist will exhibit his first one-man art show.

The topic will be Patakis.
A pataki is a brief story used in Nigeria recorded history and important events. Narratives of the Yoruba Lucumi faith and their religious stories are known to practitioners as Patakis. Baba Shongo will exhibit, discuss, explain and experience together with the community and for the community and all visitors his patakis, his understanding of important history. Woodcarving is Baba ´s main medium. He will share some of his knowledge about ancient symbols and signs at this art show at the William H. Thomas Art Gallery.
