Thurber House presents a special event featuring Columbus Noir authors
Robin Yocum, Kristen Lepionka, Yolonda Tonette Sanders, Khalid Moalim,
and more. This event begins at 7:00 pm at the Columbus Museum of Art.About the Book and Authors
Noir is an original noir anthology featuring stories by Andrew
Welsh-Huggins, Lee Martin, Robin Yocum, Kristen Lepionka, Yolonda
Tonette Sanders, Julia Keller, and more. Today, Columbus is an epicenter
of the opioid epidemic, awash in heroin and even deadlier fentanyl.
Homicides and infant mortality rates are rising. At long last, we’re
finally as lethal as any big American city. In that light (and
darkness), Columbus Noir is a collection of shadowy tales from the
city’s best storytellers set in neighborhoods across the metropolis.
Sexual passion drives many of the stories, racism makes an appearance or
two, and greed and pride—the twin pillars of noir—will never die.
Still, a deep appreciation of Columbus runs through the book.Reception
us for a pre-event reception with the authors from 5:30–6:30 pm at
Thurber Center (91 Jefferson Ave.). Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Tickets to the reception include admission to the event.
